Keynote Session:
Career paths are never straight and narrow, and you need to be agile in order to respond to change and opportunity in today's challenging economy. But, you also can take steps to ensure you move in the right direction. Hear how the demand for HR talent and the global HR skill set is becoming more competitive, and, how you, as an HR leader can learn how to assess the career ladder of your current organization and act accordingly. The presented topic "Path to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) role" - a Korn Ferry Institute Executive Summary 2008, will discuss key findings including the necessary functional HR areas of expertise, experience in field HR roles vs. corporate/divisional HR roles as well as broader business acumen or a direct line assignment as part of their overall career progression. Findings will review which industries are more apt to promote HR leadership from within the organization vs. seeking an external candidate for the role.
