They have come on board and are learning the ropes, performing the work. The future depends on them. This interactive roundtable session will explore the behavioral differences and similarities of this multi-generational workforce. By recognizing this, leaders will be able to attain greater team cohesion and respond to two different sets of needs and values.
You will walk away with ways to:
explore the Facts and Myths about Baby Boomers and Gen X-ers
identify actions that can help you dispel these Facts and Myths
discuss strategies for ensuring high productivity in this culture
gain insights, strategies and skills that help minimize generational conflict.

Through unique leadership development processes, these companies develop tomorrow’s workforce- employees who can contribute to meeting the bottom-line. Small Group Focused Session III
Session Title: The Nuts & Bolts of Hiring Foreign Nationals: Issues that Arise When Building a Diverse Workforce
Session Description: The demand for skilled employees in today's workforce is exceeding the supply. America's workforce is aging; and in fields such as science, technology, engineering and math, the availability of talented workers is scarce. These trends indicate the need for employers to explore strategies to tap into the immigrant workforce and leverage the diversity within this talent pool. Hiring foreign nationals can provide a solution to this predicament while offering a myriad of benefits to the organization and the surrounding community.
However, the benefits of hiring foreign nationals is often overshadowed by a maze of changing rules and regulations, compliance issues, and the ever-increasing risk of government audits. Although the process of hiring foreign nationals can be intimidating, it is a manageable and rewarding process for those institutions that invest the time to learn the ropes.
Attendees of this workshop will:
Learn various employer-sponsored visas;
Learn about the costs and timelines involved in the processing of visas;
Develop an awareness of compliance issues that arise when hiring foreign nationals;
Discuss the need and/or implementation of acculturation services for foreign national employees (ie. cross-cultural training and ESL)
