PSHRM Merit Awards
This year the Philadelphia SHRM Chapter is recognizing graduate and undergraduate students in the field of Human Resource Management by offering - PSHRM Merit Awards - which is an award to recognize those students who have demonstrated academic excellence and community involvement. Completed applications are due no later than Friday, April 25th.

Recipient Selection:

PSHRM Merit Awards recipients:

  • must be a matriculated student majoring in Human Resources;
  • must have demonstrated academic excellence;
  • must have SHRM affiliation;
  • who are undergraduate students, must have completed at least 55 credits of course work;
  • must be full-time graduation or undergraduate students

Any actively enrolled student, who meets the selection criteria, is eligible to submit an application for the award.  In addition to evaluating submitted documents, applicants may also be interviewed. Consideration for selection will be given to academic excellence, chapter and community-related activities, and overall HR accomplishments.  

Application Process:

Faculty advisors should distribute the PSHRM Merit Award application information to qualifying students. Completed applications, along with a resume, must be received no later than Friday, April 25, 2008. Please note: All questions must be completed in order for this application to be considered final. Submissions that are not complete will not be accepted.

Recognition Presentation:

  • Award Recipients will be honored at the Philadelphia SHRM Networking Event on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 5:30 pm at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Merit Award Winners:

There will be two Merit Awards distributed this year; one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate student. Each winner will receive a check in the amount of $1,000. We ask that each winner write an article for our chapter newsletter to show our membership why you were deserving of this award.
