Christine Derenick-Lopez is the Assistant Director of Aviation, Administrative Services for Philadelphia International Airport. Philadelphia International Airport is one of the largest economic engines in Pennsylvania, generating $14.2 billion a year for the local economy, and more than 200 companies associated with airport employ of 42,000 workers. Christine is responsible for directing the human resource function, creating human resource strategies, including staffing management, occupational health & safety, labor relations, and organizational development. Christine has 19 years of progressive public sector experience in human resources. She serves on the Hotel, Restaurant, Travel & Tourism Board, Philadelphia Academies Inc. as well as Airports Council International-North America/HR Steering Committee. Ms. Derenick-Lopez earned her BS degree in Business Administration from Mansfield University and has been PHR certified since 1999.

Gloria Sinclair Miller is a highly respected strategic Human Resources Business Partner who has more than 12 years of accomplishments in senior human resources management positions within the pharmaceutical, retail and financial services industries. She has been acknowledged for her collaborative and energetic style, and her impact in driving successful global change initiatives and building alignment across complex organizations, adopting innovative approaches to recruiting and retaining top talent, and developing and executing high quality mentoring and leadership programs.
Ms. Sinclair Miller has held multiple Senior Human Resources positions within Bristol-Myers Squibb since 2006. Currently Ms. Sinclair Miller, is Associate Director, Human Resources in BioPharma Information Technology, where she serves as the HR Business Partner and Generalist and oversees the Human Resources team and drives the talent management strategy including recruitment, training and development. When she started with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ms. Sinclair Miller was the Manager and then was promoted to Associate Director of Human Resources for 3 years, where she managed human resources strategic planning, staff and recruitment, performance management, and employee relations for staff in the Information Management (IM) division, and served as the global HR project and change manager for a multi-million dollar outsourcing initiative. She then was appointed Associate Director of Organizational Development (OD), where she was a part of an internal consulting team that provided change management, organizational design and diagnosis expertise to the organization.
For 7 years prior to joining Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ms. Sinclair Miller held Regional HR Management positions with Borders Group, Inc as well as TD Bank, where she was an effective multi-unit human resources business partner, building strong alliances with operational and human resources partners.
Ms. Sinclair Miller's professional credentials include Global and Senior Professional in Human Resources Certifications (GPHR and SPHR), as well as both a Masters and Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Widener University and Wilmington Universities respectively. She has assumed numerous leadership roles within the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). She is currently President Elect for the Philadelphia Chapter of SHRM, having served on the Board of Directors for several years, and served as the Vice President of Development, and Chair of the Mentoring Committee. Kelley F. Cornish, MA, CCDP, Principal at LeadingNEXT LLC, a talent management and executive diversity firm based in Philadelphia, PA, is the past president of Philly SHRM. A trusted advisor to clients including executives and their employees on various talent management and diversity workforce initiatives, prior to turning to consulting in late 2010 with LeadingNEXT, Kelley served as an HR leader with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for five years. During her tenure, she oversaw the Enterprise HR and Diversity & Inclusion platforms where she initiated partnerships with workforce development agencies and educational institutions to elevate CHOP's talent pipeline including launching the award-winning CHOP INSIGHTS Forum™, a development program for emerging leaders of color, and implemented a visionary lactation support program for working mothers. Prior to CHOP, Kelley's professional career included tenure as an assistant vice president in corporate relations and vice president of marketing and development in the banking and nonprofit arenas. To her credit, she was the first woman and youngest person to serve as an executive director of a U.S. Department of Commerce-funded minority business development center in Augusta, GA early in her career.
Certified as a diversity professional (CCDP) by Cornell University, Kelley is pursuing her Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR) certification. She holds a Masters in HR Management from Webster University and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Samuel M. First serves as Labor & Employment Department Chair at Jacobs Law Group. He has 15 years experience representing private and public sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. From 2001 to April of 2007, Mr. First was a partner with the national law firm of Blank Rome, LLP where he concentrated his practice in the areas of labor and employment.
Mr. First represents and advises employers, both large and small, in employment discrimination matters, non-compete, non-solicitation and trade secret disputes, executive employment agreements, employee termination and disciplinary matters, reductions in force, severance arrangements, wage and hour laws, personnel policies and practices and the complex web of federal, state and local laws governing the workplace. In addition, he regularly represents clients on labor and employment issues in mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions as well as all issues affecting unionized workforces.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as an Administrative Fellow, Salonia
served as the Operational Risk Manager for The Bank of New York Mellon where

the Philadelphia region of BNYMellon which included Remittance Processing,
Collections and Disbursement's and the Private Wealth Center. During the

Mark is an attorney who focuses his practice on litigating claims involving employment law, contract disputes and professional malpractice. He has been practicing law since graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1994. He is currently associated with McCann & Geschke, P.C. in Philadelphia. At the beginning of his career, Mark served as Staff Counsel for Allegheny Health, Education & Research Foundation in Philadelphia, and then went into private practice where he became a Partner in a boutique litigation law firm. Before becoming a lawyer, Mark attended Penn State University where he received a bachelor's degree in journalism. He worked as a journalist at several newspapers and served as Business Editor of the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal. He also served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted soldier in the field artillery. After completing his full-time service, Mark remained in the National Guard becoming a commissioned officer in an engineer battalion. April is a Regional Human Resources Manager with ARAMARK Business & Industry Group – Facility Services. In this role, April is responsible for HR service delivery, identifying best practices and organizational efficiencies, coaching and training line management, and facilitating change and project management initiatives for over 1,200 managers and associates working within ARAMARK Business & Industry Group – Facility Services. Prior to joining ARAMARK in 2008, April held a number of positions of increasing responsibility. While at Quickie Manufacturing, she developed and implemented the company's first Employee Development and Training Program, affectionately known as Quickie University.
During April's tenure at GCA Services Group, she led the procurement of GCA's first HRIS solution. In this role, she planned and directed the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the system to meet the company's ongoing needs. April has also worked for Internet Capital Group and Arthur Anderson, LLP.
April is a member of Young Executives for Success (Y.E.S!). It is the volunteer, fundraising, and networking arm of Dress for Success. She is a volunteer within ARAMARK's Building Community Initiative and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Chris is a Partner at Embrook Benefits Consulting. Embrook Benefits Consulting works with small and mid-sized businesses to create, manage and communicate health and wellness benefits programs. Chris is extending his family's experience in the employee benefits business into a fifth decade, but he also has valuable experience outside of the benefits profession.
After 10 years in the benefits consulting business, Chris worked at companies that employed between 5 and 70,000 people (Microsoft Corporation and two software start-up companies). This showed him a totally different side of the benefits world – he went from consultant to the consumer. He saw the affects of policies and changes to benefits among his co-workers and the difficulty of communicating benefits.
It was these years away from the business that reignited his excitement to get back to helping both employers and employees navigate the increasingly complex world of health, accident and wellness benefits.

Previously, Rich was a marketing executive with ADP Employer Services-Major Accounts in Fort Washington, PA, where he assisted middle market employers with HRIS and Benefit Administration.

Before that, Sheila worked as a Human Resources Generalist in the legal and insurance industries. Charity Hughes, SPHR, is the director of human resource and organizational development SCA Tissue North America, a global hygiene and paper company. In this role, she leads the strategic direction for the HR function. Her professional human resources experience ranges from talent management to executive coaching and change management. Ms. Hughes has worked for some of Philadelphia’s most renowned employers including Independence Blue Cross and University of Pennsylvania Health System. Patricia McConnell is a Human Resources Manager for the City of Philadelphia with over ten years of varied human resources leadership experience. Her expertise and achievements are in the areas of Talent Management, Job Design, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Performance Management and HR Metrics & Analytics. She has served in both a consultative and managerial capacity, utilizing her expertise and experience collaborating with executives to effectuate change, execute process improvements and achieve strategic HR solutions. Since 2009, she has led a team of professionals responsible for providing full range of HR Services for the Philadelphia Streets Department, a large municipal organization, with a diverse workforce of 1800 employees. Some of the many services the organization provides in fulfillment of its mission, Clean and Safe Streets, include the design and maintenance of 2,575 miles city streets, highways and bridges, management of one of the largest street lighting systems in the country with over 100,000 lights, design and maintenance of the city's extensive traffic control system and daily trash and recycling collection for over 550,000 households.
Patty graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Professional in Human Resources and will graduate from Drexel University's LeBow College of Business in September 2011 with her Master of Business Administration. Erik joined Comcast in 2011 as a Talent Development Specialist. In this role he manages projects to enhance a development program for high potential finance managers through job rotations, executive education and other development opportunities, along with internal program recruiting and branding. Erik also supports the learning and development of the Internal Audit department through facilitating focused training, career pathing, and on-boarding and orienting new hires.
Previously Erik was an HR Consultant for CIGNA Corporation. In that role he partnered with an entry level leadership program and enterprise functions on their college recruitment strategy development and implementation, led the national intern program, and managed recruiting relationships with targeted universities across the US.
Currently Erik serves as the Philadelphia SHRM Emerging HR Leaders Committee co-chair. This committee engages individuals with 8 years or less of HR experience to Philly SHRM, including students in an HR or related major. He previously volunteered as the Strategic Fellow and was also on the college relations committee.
Erik graduated from Temple University with a degree in Human Resource Management. While in college, he served as the President of Temple SHRM, and was the Temple mascot – "Hooter the Owl" – all four years. Erik lives in Conshohocken with his wife Meredith, and in his spare time enjoys golfing and road cycling.

Jameel is the Corporate Human Resources Manager for ARAMARK Sports and Entertainment. In this role he supports the marketing, finance, accounting, retail, sales, HR, and IT teams for ARAMARK S&E. This encompasses all areas of HR including employee relations, compensation, performance management, and coaching/development. He also manages division wide HR processes such as the performance review process, bonus program, the college relations/intern program, and other HR related projects.
Prior to his current HR Manager role Jameel spent time in Organizational Development where his department was in charge of Talent Management for all of ARAMARK's North American business and as an HR Representative for ARAMARK International. Jameel also spent time with Sesame Place Human Resources, the City of Philadelphia EEO division, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Jameel is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelors in Business Administration focusing on Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems. There he served as President of the Temple Society for Human Resource Management. Prior to his role with the Emerging Leaders committee Jameel also served on the PHR Prep committee. Sylvie Clérié, MA, works as an Associate HR Manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb, a leading BioPharma Company located in Central New Jersey. In this role, Sylvie Project Manages the IT Associates Program which is a 2 year rotational program for MBA Students who have a particular interest in Information Technology. She also supports three IT Business Leaders as an HR Generalist.
Prior to this, Sylvie was the HR Generalist for Team Clean- a commercial janitorial services company in the Philadelphia area. In this role, she took initiative to standardize and streamline HR procedures. She developed a number of tools to improve the HR Function within the company which facilitated the communication of information to Managers and their employees. She was also instrumental in managing and effectively using the HRIS system (ADP-HRB).
Before joining the HR community, Sylvie spent 5 years in the pursuit of her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. During that time, she acquired a great deal of experience working with people in both a counseling and business setting. Between her undergraduate and graduate degree, she spent a year as a Software Trainer for Wilbur Chocolate Factory in Lancaster PA where she quickly became instrumental in the implementation of the enterprise resource planning system.
Sylvie has been volunteering with Philadelphia SHRM since 2009. She started as a member of the programming committee and then as the Project Manager for the committee. She currently serves as the Strategic Fellow on the PSHRM Board supporting the board members in their mission to be the primary advocate and resource for advancing the HR profession and HR's value in the greater Philadelphia community.
